DURHAM Tees Valley Airport (DTVA) is to make redundancies following its takeover by a Canadian firm.
DTVA, near Darlington, confirmed last night that it was in consultation with three employees.
Vancouver Airport Services reached an agreement in June to buy a 65 per cent share in Peel Airports Limited, which runs DTVA, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster- Sheffield.
In a statement, Peel said: “Following the recent acquisition by Vancouver Airport Services of the majority shareholding at Durham Tees Valley Airport and as part of a company restructuring across all three Peel Airports, it has unfortunately been necessary to enter into a consultation regarding proposed redundancies affecting a small number of employees at Durham Tees Valley Airport.”
