A GRADUATE has beaten competition from more than 100 other applicants to win a job with a North-East law firm.
Gwen Jones has become a trainee solicitor with Mincoffs, after completing a legal practice course at York College of Law.
She will gain experience of various departments within the firm, which is based in Jesmond, Newcastle, before qualifying as a solicitor next February.
Ms Jones, 27, will begin her career with Mincoffs in the commercial property department, gaining experience of funding, acquisition, management, and disposal of large property portfolios on some of the most significant commercial property deals in the region.
Phil Dean, partner at Mincoffs, said: “Gwen did exceptionally well to beat such strong contenders for the role, she was certainly the best candidate.
“Our commitment to personal and team development has been a principle feature of growth throughout the firm and is one of our many strengths, so we are looking forward to seeing her career develop within Mincoffs. The experience she will gain throughout her time across all departments will allow her to make an informed decision to specialise in a chosen field.”
Mincoffs is one of the region’s longest established law firms and has been successfully providing legal advice to clients, both regionally and nationally, for more than 60 years.
