A COUNTY Durham firm that makes worker safety wear has been recognised for its own safety record.

The 3M site, at Aycliffe Business Park, has won a hat-trick of awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The RoSPA President’s Award, is being made to the firm for the third consecutive year.

It is only given to the select UK companies who already have a minimum ten-year record of maintaining the RoSPA gold standard for health and safety.

Adrian Hughes safety manager for the site, which makes personal respirators, said: “It’s no mean feat and shows the commitment of everyone here at Aycliffe.”
