THREE students stitched their way to a place in round two of the Clotheshow Live Can U Cut It? competition.
Niki Charlton, Amy Churchill and Tillisha Gibson, from Cleveland College of Art and Design, recently met 36 students from nine colleges at round one.
The competition is the UK's largest creative and technical skills competition.
Held at The Merchant Taylors' Hall, York, entrants first saw their garments modelled on the catwalk in front of a panel of judges, including Eve Colling, from Penny Plain, who gave marks for technical skills, including pattern-cutting, grading and garment construction. The names of the eight students going forward to the next round were then announced.
Six heats of the competition were held this month. The judges will meet next month to choose 40 garments, which will go forward to the competition's grand final.
Held at the Clotheshow Live - the largest fashion and beauty event in the world - at the NEC in Birmingham in December, garments will be modelled in front of 5,500 people.
