A FORMER apprentice who has shown commitment to her job has been named employee of the year.

Clair Bell, a customer involvement manager with Dale and Valley Homes, in Crook, County Durham, started work with the organisation four years ago.

Bosses say the 26-year-old has risen through the ranks and is dedicated to her role of getting tenants more involved in managing their homes.

She was presented with an engraved glass trophy at a ceremony at Helme Park Hotel, in Fir Tree, near Tow Law.

Dale and Valley Homes chief executive Peter Chaffer said: “Clair thoroughly deserves this award. She has shown commitment and dedication to the customers and inspirational leadership to her team. She has earned the trust and respect of the customers and her colleagues.”

Miss Bell said: “I was shocked and surprised when my name was read out. I really enjoy my job.

“The customers are interesting, challenging and hugely enjoyable to work with. If we work closely with them on simple things we can ensure our services are being improved and that they meet our customers’ needs.”
