A TEAM of security officers at a factory in Barnard Castle have picked up a regional award.
Reliance Security Services, based at GlaxoSmithKline, won the Best Use of Technology award in the North-East round of the British Security Industry Association’s annual security officer awards.
Mike Powell, security officer from the team, said: “It’s great to receive this professional recognition for our commitment to the security and safety of our customer’s staff and premises.
“As often is the nature of our profession, we only get noticed when something goes awry rather than when things are working well – so this means a lot to the team.”
The team will now go forward to the national judging phase. The national winners will be presented with the awards in July, in London.
