E-COMMERCE and web development company Visualsoft is expecting to help generate tens of millions of pounds for its clients with the Christmas boom in online shopping.

Visualsoft, in Stockton, has built and provided the e-commerce technology behind websites that are expecting to see soaring sales this Christmas.

Nationally, about £13.6bn is expected to be spent by 29 million people buying gifts online, according to trade body IMRG.

Visualsoft has built sites for more than 100 retailers across the UK, ranging from fashion retailers to DIY and furniture companies, and expects tens of millions of pounds-worth of goods to be searched for, ordered and paid for through the company’s engine.

Two of its clients have already seen significant increases in sales – Castlegate Lights has seen turnover quadruple, and themens wearsite.com has seen turnover rise by 500 per cent.
