THE North-East division of the world's largest business and innovation network has been launched.

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) was established in January by the European Commission to help businesses.

The service has now been launched in the North-East by the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), in partnership with regional development agency One NorthEast.

The main focus of the project will be businesses operating in the sectors underpinning the Regional Economic Strategy, including renewable energy, life sciences, digital and product design and process industries.

The ten-strong regional EEN team will liaise with more than 4,000 workers in more than 500 teams across Europe to find ways of maximising continental opportunities for North-East businesses.
