A CLOTHING company is creating a number of jobs at its North-East headquarters.
Pentland Brands, the firm behind Berghaus, wants around 20 staff to fill roles including customer service, supply operations and finance posts at its Sunderland base.
Sunderland has been the home of Berghaus since Pentland bought the brand in the early 1990s, and the business is now bringing support teams from its Active brands portfolio, which includes Speedo, Canterbury and Mitre to Wearside.
Sean Hastings, Pentland Brands’ global marketing director, said: “Berghaus has a fantastic track record of innovative design, a wellestablished supply chain and customer service, and we’ll now be able to implement that across our other Active brands.
“A multi-brand support team here at our North-East headquarters also makes sense as we know there’s a great pool of talent in the region.”
Following the recruitment drive, Mr Hastings revealed Pentland will employ 85 people in Sunderland.
