AN engineering business has secured new work as it celebrates a major production milestone.
GT Emissions Systems, part of GT Group, says it has made 2.5 million emission control systems in the region.
The company, based at Peterlee, County Durham, is also working with a manufacturer on a project bosses say will deliver more than half a million valves every year until 2020 at least.
GT Emissions Systems makes exhaust gas control systems for on and off-road vehicles, as well as construction, industrial and marine equipment.
Geoff Turnbull, GT Group chairman, said: “Several million vehicles around the world now feature an emission control system produced by GT, which is a significant achievement and is a real North-East success story.
“It highlights the position UK companies can accomplish in global markets through intensive research and development of solutions that a positive impact on the environment.
“We are continually investing in our manufacturing technology and facilities to ensure we can maintain high levels of productivity alongside consistently evolving our emission systems to ensure they meet international regulations and support customers’ emission targets.”
