NOF Energy, the business development organisation for the oil, gas, nuclear, offshore and renewable sectors tomorrow welcomes delegates from around the world to its biggest ever event, Energy: A Balanced Future.

Leading figures from multinational organisations will join suppliers at Sage Gateshead for one of the largest energy events of the year and address the major issues within the sector.

The fifth-annual conference and exhibition will include speakers from DONG Energy, The Nuclear Industry Association, Durham Energy Institute, Wood Group PSN, as well as the Minister for Business, Energy and Enterprise, Matthew Hancock.

More than 500 delegates are expected to attend the event, which has had to almost triple its exhibition space to meet increased demand. The conference will cover oil, gas, nuclear, offshore renewables, shale gas and for the first time, future energies.

George Rafferty, chief executive of NOF Energy, said: “This is going to be our largest conference to date and may in fact be the most important. With the energy industry undergoing a significant transformation it will provide an excellent opportunity for us to discuss and debate the most effective approach to securing its long term sustainability.

“The North East of England has built an excellent reputation for its innovative supply chain and it was only natural that we hold this global event at an iconic venue within the heart of the oil and gas industry’s supply chain.

“With delegates from The Netherlands, Oklahoma, Canada, Houston, Dublin, Louisiana, Nigeria, Mexico and Malaysia we have had to utilise the Sage’s entire floor space to accommodate the event, which I’m sure will reverberate throughout the global energy sector.”
