STRIKING workers at North-East based jacket manufacturer Barbour are to stage a march and rally as part of their campaign to resolve a dispute over their employment contracts, including hours.

Members of the Unite union will demonstrate in South Shields tomorrow, and hand in a letter to the firm's head office outlining their concerns.

The union said workers have been given an ultimatum to sign away unsocial hours payments and agree to work until 11pm at night or face the sack.

Regional officer Fazia Hussain-Brown said he hoped talks planned for next week would be constructive.

Workers are staging morning strikes until the end of January.

The company has said a proposed shift pattern offered workers substantial pay rises.
