A TECHNOLOGY firm says it could create jobs after moving into new hands.
Exis Technologies’ owners Ken Burgess and David Hallam have passed the business over to James Douglas, Shirley Morton and Will Bartle.
The company, based in Darlington, supplies computerised systems for managing dangerous goods in sea transport.
It has more than 25 years’ experience of supporting major shipping lines, distributors and ports, with 16 of the world's top 20 container operators using its services.
The firm was originally part of Whessoe Technical Computing and subject to a management buyout in 1992.
Its transition into new hands was supported by accountants and business advisers Clive Owen and Co.
Mr Bartle, operations director, said: “We are a knowledge business and our most important assets are our people.
“We are growing quickly and have a number of exciting projects that will generate further growth.
“We are now well placed to capitalise on a range of opportunities, and will be actively looking to expand the team.”
Ben Williamson, Clive Owen associate director of corporate finance, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with all the stakeholders in the transaction and find a funding solution that enables the smoothest possible transfer of ownership.”
The move was also supported by law firm Endeavour Partnership, based in Thornaby, near Stockton, and Natwest.
