A LIFE sciences company employing about 100 North-East workers has revealed increased revenues.
Immunodiagnostic Systems (IDS), based in Boldon, near Sunderland, develops vitamin D test kits and specialist instruments for clinical research.
Bosses, who last year won their third Queen's Award for Enterprise, revealed total revenues of £27m for the six months to September 30, which are £3m higher than the same period last year.
It said it expected full-year revenues to show modest year-on-year growth.
Patrik Dahlen, IDS chief executive, said: “We are pleased with our trading performance in the first half of 2013/2014 and are confident of delivering year-on-year growth over the full year.”
Earlier this year, the firm, whose Boldon headquarters are its international base, unveiled plans to continue its international expansion after overcoming a challenging year.
Bosses said they wanted to push into Brazilian, Russian and Chinese markets on the back of satisfactory financial results, which had stabilised after difficulties in the vitamin D market.
