A CALL centre company is creating 100 North-East jobs.

Call Connection is opening a £1m call centre in Pandon, Newcastle, in November, which will be fully operational in January.

Bosses say they will recruit an initial 25 workers, and create up to 100 posts by the end of next year.

The company acts as one of the UK’s largest contact centres for the insurance sector.

Founded in 2003, it employs 250 workers at a call centre in Ipswich and sales office in London.

Graeme Kalbraier, Call Connection managing director, said he was pleased with the move to the North-East.

He said: “The company is ten now and with demand for our services rapidly increasing, we are in the best possible position to expand our operation.

“I am delighted to be opening an office in Newcastle and taking on staff who will make a valuable contribution to the continued success of our business.”

James Ramsbotham, chief executive of the North East Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is fantastic news and further evidence that the regional service sector continues to bounce back strongly after the recession.

“This significant investment is a clear demonstration of the company’s commitment to the North-East.”
