AN ACCONTANCY firm has raised £100,000 for charity in less than 12 months.
Tait Walker pledged in January 2012 it would raise funds for a number of local charities, to mark its 75th year in business, including the likes of Great North Air Ambulance, St Oswald’s Hospice, Tiny Lives and Macmillan Cancer Support, among others.
The team has thrown itself into everything from boot camps and cake sales, art exhibitions and team away days, even taking on the grueling Three Peaks Challenge during the year’s wettest weekend.

Despite exceeding their target just six months in, the team continued fundraising for the duration of the year in a bid to achieve the optimal amount for their chosen charities, reaching just under the £100,000 mark in time for Christmas.
The firm’s most recent effort involved hosting their annual Corporate Recovery Christmas lunch in aid of the Newcastle People’s Kitchen – the funds from which will go towards supporting a new initiative, its “Your Future” project, designed to help the ‘friends’ of the kitchen move towards independent living.
Tait Walker’s Gordon Goldie said: “2012 has been an incredible year for the business and the team should feel extremely proud of the hard work which has been put into making these fundraising events happen.”
