Girls touching gift for brave Charlotte

A little Bromley girl was so moved when hearing about the plight of Charlotte Cook, the four year-old who recovered from a rare form of lung cancer, that she decided to make her a present of her bicycle.

Nine year-old Fleur Andrews made the gesture after reading about Charlottes heroic battle against the life threatening illness which featured in last weeks News Shopper.

Charlotte was first diagnosed with lung cancer when she was barely three years-old. After a year of extensive chemotherapy, she eventually managed to make a full recovery, and was well enough to attend her first day at school at Southborugh Primary School on Tuesday January 9.

Thanks to Fleur Andrews, Charlotte is now able to ride to school on her brand new bike. Fleur told her father that she wanted to give Charlotte the present, and he eventually managed to track the Cooks down after an exhaustive search.

Debbie Cook, Charlottes mother, was extremely touched by the gift.

She said: "It was such a lovely gesture on behalf of this little girl."
