THOMPSON Ethel On July 16, peacefully at home in Thornton Watlass, Ethel aged 94 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Robert, loving mum in a million to Colin, dear mother-in-law to Ellen and a dearest gran to Ashley and Phoebe and a loving friend to all. Funeral Service to take place at St Mary's Church Thornton Watlass on Wednesday, July 25 at 10.00am followed by interment. Family flowers only, donations if wished may be given after the Service to benefit the Womens Institute and the Village Hall.

My deepest condolences to you Colin and all your family. I remember very well visiting Edith and Ethel with my Mum and Dad (John and Gladys Gibson) Your wedding to Ethel and you when you were a baby and a little boy. I remember your Dad playing the Organ he had at the farm. Most of all I remember Ethel and her smile, her warm personality, sense of humour and her joy for life! She always made everyone so welcome. The lovely home cooking and the happiness she radiated to all around her. I'm sorry my brother (Tony) was unable to make the funeral, she's not too well himself. I've lived in Los Angeles for many years now, visiting the UK briefly, once a year or so. You are in my thoughts and take me back to those happy times on Sunday outings, visiting our relatives with my Mum and Dad. All my love, Christine ( Gibson-Briers )
