A HORSE lover has been left upset after thieves stole around £7,000 worth of tack and equipment.

Burglars broke into a garage on Low Station Road, Leamside, in Houghton-le-Spring, between 8.30am and 4pm on November 8.

They stole a large quantity of horse tack and equipment estimated to value around £7,000 and the offenders also attempted to force open the front door of the house but were unsuccessful.

A spokesperson from Durham Constabulary said: “Not only has this burglary caused financial harm, it has caused emotional upset to the victims of this crime.

“We believe a vehicle has been involved in this theft. If you have any information please get in touch.”
