Bishop Auckland were denied the chance to go second in the ENL by a floodlight failure at Penrith tonight.
Bishops were 2-0 up and cruising, but the floodlights went out on the stroke of half time, and the referee abandoned the game.
Bishops took the lead after 14 minutes when Andy Johnson ran into the box and fired home, then Kyle Patton tapped in the second after Kyle Fryatt’s shot had been parried.
Callum Patton then had a penalty saved after Kyle Patton was fouled.
In the Ernest Armstrong Cup, Willington beat Crook 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Jeff Smith gave Willington an early lead, with Christian Holliday equalising midway through the first half.
In the EvoStik League East, Marske United drew 1-1 at Pontefract.
Pontefract scored halfway through the first half, but Marske levelled when Mattie Waters nodded down a cross for Curtis Round to fire home.
Kevin Hayes went close twice in the second half, Josh Rowbotham hit the bar and in the last minute Jamie Owens missed a great chance.
