Shildon went joint top of the EBAC Northern League tonight with a 1-1 draw at Seaham Red Star.

There weren’t many chances in the game until Darryl Hall headed Shildon in front on 74 minutes and that would have been enough for Shildon to go two points clear, until Dan Wilson equalised for Seaham.

West Auckland wasted a chance to go top themselves when they lost 2-1 at home to Sunderland RCA.

West took the lead after 10 minutes when Adam Mitchell drove the ball over low from the right to the far post where Tom Price sidefooted home.

West wasted chances to increase their lead before RCA equalised on 65 minutes when Michael Charlton controlled a right wing cross, beat a defender and fired under West keeper Shane Bland.

The RCA went in front on 73 minutes when Bland brought down Mark Davison as he went for a short back pass, and Davison scored from the spot.

In the second division, Durham City, under caretaker manager Wayne Gredziak, lost 2-0 at home to Northallerton, who took the lead after 38 minutes through Josh Keogh and added another through Chris Dickinson.

Thornaby went joint top by beating Washington 3-0.
