Two goals in the last fifteen minutes earned Bishop Auckland a place in the second qualifying round of the Buildbase FA Vase when they beat Newton Aycliffe 2-0 last night.

Both keepers made good saves in a fast and entertaining game, before Bishops broke through on 77 minutes when Kyle Fryatt made an excellent 50 yard diagonal run through the Aycliffe defence before slotting the ball past keeper Daniel Scott.

And Bishops made the game safe with five minutes left when Andy Johnson was brought down as he ran into the box, and Callum Patton scored from the spot.

Bishops will now play West Allotment in the next round.
