A WEEKEND of limited races saw the handful of Quakers who were running scattered far and wide.

Over in Cumbria, Dawn Richardson was the sole Quaker at the Great Langdale 10K, finishing the undulating out and back route there in 40:43.

Two travelled down to Devon for the Burrator Noir event, which comprised two contrasting night-time runs in and around Dartmoor. In the 10 mile race, Richard Hughes completed the fairly undulating off-road distance in 2:10:04, while Diane Vaughan finished the much flatter 10K road route in 47:37 (and first in her age category).

An honourable mention must also go to those Quakers who got into the Christmas spirit by completing the Santa Run, held over a 5K distance at West Park, and raising money for St Teresa’s Hospice.

In the Saturday morning parkruns, there was a 1-2 at South Park, where Alex Kiel finished in 16:08, just ahead of Michael Joyeux in 16:16. They were followed by Marc Ellis (17:34, PB), Dave Jones (18:22), Brian Martin (19:05), Rob Dent (19:30), Ed Griffiths (19:59, PB), Phil Rutter (21:01), Lewis Boshier (21:09, PB), Gary Read (21:09), Billy Harris (21:18), Phil Clarke (22:58), Peter Rowley (23:33), Lindsey Lester (23:38), Rob Gillham (24:16), Gavin Armstrong (24:27), Jamie Pratt (24:54), Olly Moore (24:56), Danny Gordon (25:04), Michelle Boshier (25:19), Abigail Willson (26:10), Chris Land (26:36), Lee Morris (27:04, PB), Brian Dixon (27:07), Sarah Watson (27:31), Neil Harrington (27:32), Gill Colling (27:55), Paul Ryan (28:35), Gemma Eddy (28:45), Sally Singleton (28:51), Brian Mclaren (29:16), Grainne Duffy (29:21), Mark Trowles (30:17), Michael King (32:39), Sally Watson (36:26), Jan Waite (38:25) and Adrian Dent (38:58).
