ARKENGARTHDALE farmer Jack Stones met up with a practicing Richard Sadler recently in the Arkengarthdale region and took the opportunity to ride Richard's 300cc Vertigo, writes Barry Robinson.

Jack has not ridden his Beta since the 2019 Scott Trial – he was also an instructor at the Richmond Motor Club Youth Training School at Cogden Hall until the floods just about wrecked Laurence Allison's farm.

After the brief ride on Sadler's Vertigo, Jack contacted Cameo Motorcycles and a deal was done. He wants to get back to full form and compete at the top levels. With a history of eight Scott Trials and eight coveted silver spoons, eight Scottish Six Days Trials and eight Special First Class awards, his pedigree is clear.

Apart from the notorious Tank Trap section which carries the legacy of the storms, with boulders strewn across the climb, Robert Stones also has the Black Hill and Grand Canyon sections on his Pepper Hall Farm – acres which are really 300cc Vertigo territory.
