RICHMOND GOLF CLUB has been awarded a grant of £7,000 to support junior golf.

The club was successful in its bid to England Golf, which offered golf clubs the opportunity to bid for funding from a Covid-19 support scheme, aimed at providing short term financial support during the pandemic.

The club will use the grant to improve facilities for junior golf at the club, where the two-time European Tour winner Graeme Storm has joined in a partnership to attract young people to the game of golf.

Graeme said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us at Richmond to improve on the practice facilities and academy course already in place which in turn will hopefully attract youngsters to visit Richmond and grow not only the junior section but also drive the membership upwards.

"We are a welcoming, inclusive golf club and look forward to continuing to grow the game.”
