THE British Masters indoor athletics championships was the main event for Dan Upton this weekend and he produced another outstanding performance in the Discus to take the V40 title, runner up in the shot, 2nd in the weight, 3rd in the hammer and also 3rd in the javelin.

Fiona Wilson was in Belfast for the British Masters cross country championships held at the scenic Stormont estate just on the outskirts of Belfast, with a storing run for 23rd overall and 5th in the V45 age group in very testing conditions. Ian Hepworth took on the might of the Dent 14 miler over hill and dale and finished in an excellent 244th (2:26:39) with some added mileage due to flooding on the course! At Loughborough Kyle Rabjohn was at the inter-counties cross country meet and was the 1st Yorkshire runner home in 8th, helping the Yorkshire team to 2nd overall and ended the season in 3rd place in the individual for the cross challenge series for the U15’s. Leon Reeve was also running in the Army UK North cross country league and finished in 19th and the 3rd V40 (39:21). At Catterick parkrun Ian Christon was the 1st finisher and smashed his pb (17:38), Mark Forrest was 2nd (18:17), Leon Reeve in 4th (19:54), Paul Simpson in 5th and also breaking his pb (20:05, pb), Nicola Simpson in 14th and the 5th lady (21:45) and Nicki Buckett in 43rd and another smashing her pb (26:45, pb). Ken Harker was 5th at Darlington parkrun (19:03). Pete Richardson was at Hackworth parkrun this week and finished in 24th (25:04). At Northallerton parkrun, Steve Middleton the 1st finisher (20:08), Anthony Jefford was 3rd in a big new pb (20:40, pb), Kiki Fletcher in 30th (30:22) and Shona Fletcher in 31st (30:23). Ollie Middleton took the top honours at Northallerton junior parkrun as the 1st finisher (08:39) and Kiki Fletcher in 16th (10:57).
