WELL done to the Swaledale Runners for putting on the Richmond Castle 10k on 14/10. It was a great success with nearly capacity entry and 376 actual runners.

A special mention to John Lynch, Helen Lucas Gardner, Claire Hewitt, Robbie Kelly, Geoff Kensett and John Elliot for all their hard work.

But also to all the members and volunteers who gave up their Sunday to help and marshal it couldn't be done without you.

The race was won by Alex Kiel of New Marske Harriers in 34.51. Swaledale runners were led home by Nick Turnbull - 45.38 - 65th, Simon Hewitt - 48.11 - 96th, Jim Coldwell - 48.39 - 102nd, Vicki Howe - 53.42 - 165th, Peter Devlin - 55.26 - 193rd, Niall Cheyne - 56.56 - 224th

Well done to Ian Oldham and Caroline Graham for completing the Lakes in a Day 50 mile race on 13/10. The conditions were extremely tough and they completed it in 19hrs 46.

Grace Gilpin continued her great and prolific year at the Yorkshire Marathon on 14/10 in a brilliant time of 4.06.43.

Tim Grimwood tackled the elements at the Langdale Horseshoe fell race on 13/10 he was 57th in a time of 3.09.03.

Well done to Mark Sowerby who was second at the Catterick Park run on 13/10 in 20.01, Jean Bradley - 29.33.

Well done to Alan Mackay who was 3rd at the Northallerton Park run in 22.09. Chris Sayer 29.29, Zoe Mackay - 33.58.
