Shildon striker Billy Greulich-Smith missed out on a hat trick of penalties in their 3-0 win overNorthallertonin the ENL last night.

The Railwaymen took the lead through a Greulich-Smith penalty on 32 minutes after Danny Craggs was fouled, and he scored another penalty four minutes later for a handball offence.

He then missed a chance to complete a hat trick of penalties when Northallerton keeper Tom Dawson saved his next spot kick.

But Greulich-Smith intercepted a back pass and completed his hat trick in the second half.

In the Durham Challenge Cup, Spennymoor striker Gavin Cogdon scored all four in his side’s 4-1 home win over Darlington Town.

Town hit the woodwork twice before Moors took the lead through Gavin Cogdon on 28 minutes, but Town were level straight away when Spennymoor defender Reece Wilkinson headed past his own keeper.

But Moors regained the lead straight from the kick-off, Cogdon again netting from six yards, and then he completed his hat trick when he burst clear and fired past the keeper.

He then scored a superb fourth, striking a free kick from virtually on the halfway line over the head of the Darlington keeper.

Tow Law striker David Allasan scored a 48th minute winner against Gateshead Rutherford to put his side through.

Brandon pulled off a surprise, taking Ryhope CW all the way to penalties before winning 4-3 on spot kicks.

Durham City lost to two second half goals at Seaham Red Star.
