In the EBAC Northern League, all but four games were postponed.

Runaway leaders Dunston didn’t play, so they will have to wait until their away game at Penrith this Saturday before they can win the league title.

Newton Aycliffe did Bishop Auckland somewhat of a favour, holding Consett to a 1-1 draw. The Steelmen took the lead through Michael Sweet, but Ethan Wood levelled for Aycliffe four minutes after half time.

Aycliffe manager Colin Stromsoy said; “The game could have been won by either team, and a draw was the right reflection on the game. The game witnessed a great save by our keeper, Adam Pickford, that anybody there was lucky to see. Considering how windy it was, both teams should be credited with playing some good football at different points of the game.”

Consett are now second in the table, a point above Bishop Auckland, but have played two games more.

In the other first division games, Ashington lost 1-0 at home to Whitley Bay that leaves then third bottom. Whickham won 4-1 at Newcastle Benfield, and Stockton are now fourth after drawing 1-1 at Ryhope CW.

All the second division games were postponed.
