RICHIE Barker's goal secured another win for Hartlepool and ensured promotion to League One in the process.
Just a year after dropping into League Two, Pools have hit back at the first attempt.
With three games to go, Pools are two points clear at the top - and have a chance to make it five points when they face Notts County at Victoria Park on Friday.
Their eyes are now fixed fimly on lifting the League Two title on May 5.
After missing second half chances - Joel Porter, Eifion Williams and Gary Liddle the guilty parties - Andy Monkhouse crossed from the left and Barker headed into the net in front of 850 delerious visiting fans.
Wycombe hardly troubled at the other end, as Pools kept another clean sheet.
Jermaine Easter, the ex-Pools striker, missed a chance for the home side.
But the final minutes were saw out comfortably and the fourth promotion in the club's history was achieved.
