YORKSHIRE have struck twice during the fourth morning in their bid for a Specsavers County Championship win over Surrey at Headingley.

The hosts declared their first innings on 557-6 before the start of play, which was delayed by 45 minutes.

That meant a lead of 227 with a minimum of 84 overs left in the day.

Jack Brooks and Liam Plunkett have taken a wicket apiece as Surrey slipped to 34-2 before advancing to 72-2 from 20 overs at lunch.

There are now a minimum of 64 overs left in the day, with Surrey still 155 behind.

Brooks trapped Rory Burns lbw and Plunkett had Arun Harinath smartly caught at third slip by Joe Root.

Kumar Sangakkara, 31 not out, survived a run out chance on one as sub fielder Elliot Callis attempted to throw down the stumps.

Callis is on the field for David Willey, who has been ruled out for six weeks with an abdominal strain.
