DURHAM cricketer Graham Onions is one of four Riverside players named in the 30 man provisional England squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in October.
The fast bowler joins Durham team-mates and England regulars Stephen Harmison, Paul Collingwood and Liam Plunkett in the squad for the competition in India.
Onions, 23, was born in Gateshead and made his First Class debut in 2004 after three years in the Durham Academy.
His career best bowling figures (5-45) when Durham played Middlesex at Lord's in the Liverpool Victoria County Championship earlier this season.
Of his selection Graham said: "I'm really happy to be included in the squad. "I've been working on making my action stronger with Alan Walker and the other coaching staff during the season. "My winter training at the World Cricket Academy and our pre season tour definitely stood me in good stead.
"I've been pleased with my performances so far this season and I'm determined to continue to play well to give me the best chance of getting into the final squad and to help Durham have a successful run towards the end of the season."
