IT IS Lloyd Motor Group Carlisle Bell day and Alan Swinbank’s Sir Royal looks primed to run a big race in Cumbria off bottomweight.

Frustratingly without a win in his seven races to date, he has put up some decent performances.

He is a four-year-old now so he should be getting the hang of things and while connections will be having plenty of fun with him running consistently well, this game is all about winning.

In the consolation race, Destiny’s Dream can go well under promising apprentice Jamie Kyne.

The youngster, who is attached to John Quinn’s yard, is having winners left, right and centre and his 5lb claim is very valuable.

Andrew Balding has his string in good nick and looks booked for a good day at Salisbury with Cloudesley the headline act in the Racing Here On Sunday Handicap.

Unfortunately still a maiden after six starts, he has nevertheless run some cracking races in defeat, none more so than last time out when he was third in a competitive handicap at Sandown.

He was racing from 3lb out of the handicap that day but was noted staying on all too late.

That had been the case on a couple of other occasions too, so this step up to ten furlongs should be right up his street.

The handicapper has surprisingly dropped him 1lb and dropped in class slightly, he can take advantage.

Balding’s Final Victory appears to be improving very quickly and can land the hat-trick in the Ashbrittle Stud Bibury Cup.

There may only be six runners but this is a competitive little affair, with all of them only separated by 3lb.

He broke his maiden in some style at Newcastle on his penultimate start and last time out won off a mark of 80 at Kempton.

He has been put up 5lb for that but this son of Generous appears one on the upgrade and he should be followed until beaten.

Jamie Osborne suffered disappointment at Ascot with Geordieland but he can gain slight compensation with Lords A Leaping in Bath’s Bathwick Tyres Swindon Maiden Stakes.

Placed on all three starts to date, he has been handed a rating of 72 which is enough to win many average maidens.

Barry Hills may not be in the best of health but his horses are absolutely flying.

His Hasty has bumped into two useful sorts in her short career in No Hubris and Chachamaidee, who both ran respectably at Royal Ascot.

Hasty faces a much easier task in Kempton’s Book Now For ‘‘Best Of British Night’’ Maiden Stakes and should be good enough to win.

There is a decent card at Worcester where the veteran Almaydan can win the Book Christmas Parties at Worcester Racecourse Handicap Chase.

■ Fol Hollow could be turned out again quickly after putting up a game performance under topweight in the Levy Board Handicap at Beverley.

Dandy Nicholls’ four-year-old bounced out of the stalls in the hands of the trainer’s son Adrian and was soon setting a blistering early pace in the five-furlong contest.

Hot favourite Everymanforhimself, winner of this race 12 months ago, took much longer to get going and while at one stage it looked like he might claw back the winner, Fol Hollow found plenty to score by three-quarters of a length.

A representative for owners Middleham Park Racing said: ‘‘He’s in the Gosforth Park Cup at Newcastle on Friday and it’s likely he will take his chance.’’ Rock Of Love had little problem opening his account at the fifth attempt with a bloodless success in the Racing Again On Friday 3 July Maiden Auction Stakes, the first leg of a treble on the card for jockey Greg Fairley.

Hailing from the in-form Mark Johnston yard, the juvenile was sent off the 11-10 market-leader and did not let his supporters down, stretching right away to score by nine lengths.

Johnston and Fairley were again seen to good effect in the Racing UK On Sky 432 Maiden Stakes with Burns Night (13-8 favourite) edging out Almuktahem in a pulsating finish, while Fairley also struck gold on Paul Cole’s Traphalgar.
