SPENNYMOOR manager Jason Ainsley says that Moors’ passage to the fifth round of the FA Vase is by no means guaranteed when they face Coalville in their fourth round replay at the Brewery Field.

Moors drew 1-1 against the Midland Alliance club in Leicestershire last week, but Ainsley said: “It isn’t going to be easy, because Coalville are a strong, well-organised side.

I just hope we haven’t missed our opportunity.

“Having said that, our big players in the side feel that they let themselves down last week and didn’t play as well as they should have. The crowd will also play an important role – they can be our 12th man. We’re hoping for at least 400-500 at the game.”

Ainsley has a doubt over defender Richie Ward, who scored last week, so Carl Beasley stands by, while there could be a home debut for midfielder Anthony Hume.

There will be a minute’s silence before kick-off in memory of one of Moors’ greatest ever players, Johnny Dixon, who died this week. After playing for Moors, he moved to Aston Villa, whom he captained to the 1957 FA Cup final.

The Durham Challenge Cup tie between Dunston and Durham City, which was due to have been played at Federation Park, has been switched to the Arnott Stadium because Dunston’s ground is waterlogged.

Dunston, who lost their first game in four months last weekend, are without striker Andy Bulford. City, facing a growing fixture backlog, have doubts over keeper Craig Turns as well as Lewis Dodds, Michael Laws and Ian Dixon. Striker Steve Richardson has turned down an approach from a club from a higher level.
