Joe Kinnear is forced to make one change to the side that took a point away to Middlesbrough with Geremi in for the injured Nicky Butt. Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins continue in attack.
The Newcastle manager keeps faith with Owen and Martins as his team look to register their first goal for three games. After earning back to back draws, Kinnear's side are expecting to take all three points against Tony Pulis' Stoke City.
Fit again Mark Viduka continues on the bench with Xisco also earning himself a place int he squad.
