INGLIS Drever is reported to be on good terms with himself as he recovers from the hock injury he sustained at Newbury on Saturday.

The triple World Hurdle hero was pulled up by Denis O’Regan in his bid to win the Long Distance Hurdle for a fourth time.

The nine-year-old was taken to Donnington Grove Veterinary Surgery near the Berkshire track but returned to trainer Howard Johnson’s stables in County Durham on Sunday.

‘‘He’s going to have box rest for the next five weeks. He seems very content and eats everything you throw at him,’’ said owner Graham Wylie.

‘‘It’s just a case of being patient with his hind leg and we’ll see what happens at the turn of the year.’’
