SANDRO TONALI returns to Newcastle United's starting line-up for this afternoon's home game with Manchester City - but Alexander Isak misses out through injury.

Isak has not recovered from the toe injury sustained in the win over Wolves, and while the Swede started last weekend's defeat at Fulham after a painkilling injection, he does not make the squad for today's game.

Tonali starts though, with the Italian returning to a Premier League starting line-up for the first time since his betting ban as one of three changes from the team that kicked off at Craven Cottage.

Lewis Hall returns to Newcastle's starting XI, replacing Lloyd Kelly at left-back, while Tonali gets the nod ahead of Joe Willock, who drops down to the bench.

Jacob Murphy comes in for Isak, with Anthony Gordon set to play as Newcastle's central striker with Harvey Barnes on the left.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has also made three changes from the side that started last weekend's league draw with Arsenal, with Mateo Kovacic, Rico Lewis and Jack Grealish coming in for Rodri, Savinho and Jeremy Doku.
