MIDDLESBROUGH are waiting for further news from MK Dons after Sonny Finch had to be forced off injured on his debut for the League Two club.
Finch joined MK Dons late on deadline day and came off the bench for the final half hour of their 1-0 defeat at Salford on Monday night.
The 19-year-old impressed in a lively cameo but went down after taking a heavy blow to his lower back.
He battled on and continued until the 90th minute when he again went down holding his back and had to be replaced.

“He's in a lot of pain,” said MK Dons boss Mike Williamson after the game.
“It's really disappointing. He's come in, he's only had one day to train. He's got a lot of pace, he's clinical and he was getting chances. But he took a nasty hit, so we'll have to monitor him.”
Boro have high hopes for Finch but decided his first loan move away from the Riverside was the best course of action in the hope that the teenager benefits from regular football elsewhere.
He missed a large chunk of last term through injury but spent the end of last season, the summer and the start of the current campaign with the Boro first team.
He played in last week's Carabao Cup defeat to Stoke and MK Dons beat plenty of other lower league clubs to the loan capture of the 19-year-old.
