NEWCASTLE UNITED take on Leicester City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

Here are all the details you need to know about the last-eight tie...

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Tuesday’s game is being staged at St James’ Park, with Newcastle having been drawn at home in the Carabao Cup for the third round in a row following victories over Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

As was the case in the previous rounds, the match must be settled on the night, with the game set to go straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes.

This is Newcastle’s tenth appearance in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, with eight of their previous nine outings at this stage of the competition having ended in defeat.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Tuesday’s game will kick-off at 8pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – the match is a complete sell-out, with all tickets for the home sections of the ground having been snapped up.

The Wor Flags have issued the following plea to Newcastle fans ahead of kick-off: “On Tuesday night we are at SJP for the first time in 2023 and we’re asking you to #bringyourscarf.

We’d like to create a sea of black and white to welcome the lads onto the pitch and make it a special night under the lights.”

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Tuesday’s game is being televised live on Sky Sports, and will be available on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.

With the game being on Sky, there is no domestic streaming available.

BBC Radio Newcastle and talkSPORT 2 are providing live radio commentary, and The Northern Echo’s Chief Sports Writer, Scott Wilson, will be at St James’ Park providing a live blog, report, ratings and post-match reaction.

WHAT IS NEWCASTLE’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Having made a host of changes for Saturday’s FA Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, Eddie Howe will be naming his strongest side against Leicester.

Callum Wilson is set to return to the starting line-up, relegating Alexander Isak to the bench, while Allan Saint-Maximin should also be back in the squad after missing the trip to Hillsborough because of an illness.

Nick Pope will return in goal, with Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar and Dan Burn set to rejoin Sven Botman in the back four.

Newcastle (probable, 4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Guimarares, Longstaff, Willock; Almiron, Wilson, Joelinton.

HOW ARE LEICESTER SHAPING UP?

While Newcastle suffered a disappointing weekend as they crashed out of the FA Cup, Leicester City fared much better as they claimed a 1-0 win at League Two side Gillingham.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored the Foxes’ winner at the Priestfield Stadium, and the forward is set to keep his place in the side at St James’, meaning Jamie Vardy might have to settle for a place on the bench.

James Maddison, who is a long-term Newcastle transfer target, is not expected to be fit for the quarter-final tie, with Dennis Praet also expected to be absent as he continues to struggle with an abdominal problem.

Leicester (probable, 4-3-3): Ward; Castagne, Amartey, Soyuncu, Thomas; Albrighton, Ndidi, Tielemans; Daka, Iheanacho, Perez.
