SUNDERLAND winger Patrick Roberts has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for September.

In the three games played last month, Roberts scored twice in the Black Cats 3-0 victory over Reading whilst providing the assist for Jewison Bennette to score a last minute equaliser against Watford in a 2-2 draw.

He has started in five out of the last six games with Tony Mowbray in charge which has also seen Sunderland lose just one game.
