PRESTON North End will head to the Stadium of Light this weekend with a near full compliment of players to pick from, manager Ryan Lowe has confirmed.

The Lilywhites take on in form Sunderland as the Championship schedule gets back underway this weekend after the recent international break.

Preston winger Ben Woodburn has made a return to training over the last fortnight after recent injury and apart from an injury to one young striker, Lowe's side are fighting fit for Saturday.

He said: “There’s only young Mikey O’Neill who has a slight problem at the moment, other than that we have a fully fit squad to pick from which is good, so selection headaches all round.”

The Black Cats have lost just one game on home soil this season which came against second placed Norwich City. Tony Mowbray's side currently find themselves in fifth place in the table after a recent 2-2 draw with Watford which was Rob Edwards last game in charge of the Hornets.

Lowe continued: “We are going to a tough place which everyone knows, they are a good team and they have a fantastic manager. If we go there full of confidence and belief that we can get a result then I’m sure we can do.”

Preston currently find themselves in 15th place in the Championship table but their statistics after 10 games make for staggering reading. They are the lowest scorers in the league with just three goals whilst conceding just four, the fewest goals in the league. Five of their games

Lowe continued: “We’ve got a lot of work in to the group we’ve had here with us and we’ve been monitoring the lads who have been away. We have been looking at solutions of where we can do better.

“We’ve worked a lot on finishing this week and overloads and attack v defence, and we will continue working on that and we want to take that in to our performances and start turning defeats in to draws and draws in to wins now.

“I have got belief that we are a better team than where we are at the moment but we are where we are in the table for a reason and that’s because we haven’t won enough games but that’s what we are working on improving.”
