MIDDLESBROUGH striker Josh Coburn completes a loan move to League One side Bristol Rovers for the season.

A deal was agreed between Bristol and Boro with Coburn looking to get regular game time this season.

Despite suffering a knee injury on the first game of the season that ruled him out for six to eight weeks, Coburn was given the green light to head out on loan and further his development. However, he will continue his rehabilitation at Rockliffe before heading to the South West.

Clubs at League One and League Two level have expressed their interest in taking the 19-year-old on loan throughout the summer but Joey Barton’s side have won the race.

Coburn still has around four to five weeks of his recovery to go but he is expected to complete his move to the South-West before 11pm today.

The teenager’s impending switch could also pave the way for Boro to bring another striker into the squad with manager Chris Wilder keen to add an experienced frontman before this evening’s deadline.
