A DOMINANT Middlesbrough were denied three points at Stoke City as D'Magio Wright-Phillips scored a stoppage time equaliser.

Boro came from behind to lead after Jacob Brown's opener through Duncan Watmore and Phil Jagielka's own goal.

BORO XI:

7 Steffen – Some risky moments at times but dealt with the shots when he had to and played some good passes out from the back.

8 Dijksteel – Extremely composed and tidy in the back three. Composed in bringing the ball out from the back but perhaps got caught for Stoke’s second goal.

7 Lenihan – A leader at the back this evening winning his aerial challenges and constantly communicating with his defence.

7 Bola – Another strong performance at left centre-back and defended manfully when called upon. Unlucky not to score as Bursik.

8 Jones – A constant threat all evening. Pinned Stoke back in their own defensive third. Got caught out for Stoke’s late leveller.

8 Howson – Top performance. Marshalled the middle of the park at the base of the midfield and played some great passes.

7 McNair – Was positive on the ball and did his defensive duties in midfield when called upon.

8 Mowatt – A top performance in his first league start. Kept things simple and built up attack really well.

8 Giles – Another top performance. Caused havoc down the left hand side, delivered some dangerous balls into the box. A crucial player for Boro.

7 McGree – A bit quiet in the first half but did well in combining in attack. Should have scored with a chance in the second half.

8 Watmore – Brillant tonight. Worked extremely hard leading the line, made killer runs in behind and took his goal really well.

Subs:

6 Forss 71’ – Chased down balls and provided a threat in attack. Unlucky not to get on the end of a Giles cross.
