UCHE Ikpeazu has delivered a message to the Middlesbrough following his exit from the club yesterday.

The 27-year-old has left the club to make a permanent switch to Turkish outfit Konyaspor.

The Ugandan striker spent just one season on Teesside after completing a move from Wycombe Wanderers under Neil Warnock last summer.

He scored three goals in 23 appearances for the club but was sent out on loan to Cardiff City in the second half of last season in search of regular game time.

He was told earlier in the summer that he did not feature in Chris Wilder’s plan for the forthcoming season and has been spending time training away from the first-team.

Ikpeazu posted on Instagram: "I just want to say a big thank you to Boro and everyone associated with this great historic football club.

"I appreciate the opportunity you gave me. To lead the line as number 9 for such a great club is something I can look back and be proud of.

"As an ambitious person I won’t hide it’s been tough at times, but in that I have grown and I’ve done the best I could which I know you fans appreciate. I wish the club the very best for the future. Thanks again."
