NICK POPE will make his senior Newcastle United debut in this afternoon's home game against Nottingham Forest.
However, his fellow summer signing, Sven Botman, is only on the bench, with Eddie Howe opting to stick with Fabian Schar and Dan Burn as his two centre-halves.
Pope gets the nod ahead of Martin Dubravka, with Kieran Trippier and Matt Targett filling the full-back berths.
With Jonjo Shelvey unavailable because of injury, Bruno Guimaraes, Joe Willock and Joelinton will form the midfield unit.
Miguel Almiron starts, along with Allan Saint-Maximin, with Callum Wilson selected as Newcastle's central striker.
Former Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback is in the Nottingham Forest starting line-up as the visitors return to the Premier League following a 23-year absence.
