EX-Middlesbrough loanee Folarin Balogun has completed a loan move to French side Stade De Reims for next season.
The 21-year-old Arsenal frontman moves to France to replace former Newcastle United target Hugo Ekitike who has moved to Paris St Germain this summer.
Balogun spent the second half of last season on loan at Boro where he made 21 appearances and scored three goals on Teesside. It’s the second loan spell of the England youth international’s career.
While Boro continue to search for forwards this summer, the club were not prepared reignite their interest in Balogun and felt the need to go in a different direction.
Boro have submitted bids for Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen but Dutch club FC Groningen are standing firm on keeping the 22-year-old.
