NEWCASTLE UNITED will kick off their 2022-23 Premier League campaign with a home game against newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper's side, who won promotion from the Championship via a play-off final win over Huddersfield last month, will visit St James' Park on the weekend of Saturday, August 6.

Newcastle's first away game, on the following weekend, takes them to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton, and with five matches scheduled, August is shaping up to be a tricky month.

Newcastle host reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on August 20, and head to Anfield to face last season's runners-up, Liverpool, on Wednesday, August 31.

Eddie Howe's side head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on October 15, and host Chelsea on November 12, which will be the final game before the break for the World Cup in Qatar.

The domestic action resumes with a Boxing Day trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City, before Leeds United visit St James' on New Year's Eve.

The new year begins with a long trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Monday, January 2, with the home game against Liverpool scheduled for February 18.

There are six games scheduled for April, including matches against Manchester United and Tottenham, and Newcastle's final home game of the season sees them host Leicester on May 20.

The campaign then ends with a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on May 28.
