DARLINGTON’S Boost the Budget campaign has reached it’s fundraising goal on the final day where fans can make donations to the club.

Fans and businesses have donated over £120,000 to the clubs budget for next season to allow the club to have healthy recruitment funds for the summer.

It’s become a tradition for the month of May to become a fundraising month and it’s the fourth year in a row where the Quakers fundraising efforts have surpassed a six figure sum.

The club are looking to mount a National League North promotion push next season after extending deals for David Wheater, Tommy Taylor, Ben Hedley and Danny Rose. Meanwhile, Darlo have signed Whitby Town duo Jacob Hazel and Jassem Sukar for next season.

Alun Armstrong said: “We need a good refreshment, a good summer and once we start pre-season, everybody can watch the lads slowly come together.

“I’m quite happy with what I’ve got but I want to add to it, that’s a certainty. The only we to do that is through the fans.”

The Boost the Budget campaign comes in the same month when the club announced plans to build a new stadium by 2025.

Fans have until midnight to continue to donate to the club’s budget for next season: Donate here.
