MIDDLESBROUGH have confirmed that Dejan Stojanovic is leaving the club this summer to join SSV Jahn Regensburg.

The Austrian goalkeeper has agreed terms with the German side, who play in Bundesliga 2.

Stojanovic leaves Boro on a permanent basis after spending two-and-a-half years with the Teessiders.

Having been signed by Jonathan Woodgate in January 2020, he made nine senior appearances for Boro.

Having made his debut at Charlton Athletic in the final game before lockdown halted the 2020-21 season, he made a further seven starts under Neil Warnock when the campaign restarted.

However, his only other Boro appearance came in a Carabao Cup game with Shrewsbury Town in the following campaign, and he has gone on to have loan spells with German second-tier clubs St Pauli and Ingolstadt.

He had one more year of his Boro contract remaining, but leaves in an attempt to rebuild his career with SSV Jahn Regensburg.
