NEWCASTLE United have denied any talks have taken place with Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson over a potential move in the summer.

Henderson has found game time hard to come by with the Red Devils making just three appearances all season playing second fiddle to David De Gea for the majority of the season.

The liklihood is that Henderson will be looking to seal a move elsewhere during the next transfer window but while early plans are being formulated for Newcastle United's summer recruitment, they remain some way off making any acquisitions.

Head coach Eddie Howe said: “We’re not close to signing anybody at this moment in time. We’re not at any advanced stage with that.

“It is very difficult for me to comment on individual players because I would be giving you an answer on every target but no, that (talks with Henderson) is far from the truth.

“I’ve got half an eye on the summer, of course I have. Preparing and planning to try and make that summer as cohesive as we can and try and get everything organised."

Newcastle United are in action this weekend in their final game of the Premier League season and the head coach's focus remains solely on matters on the pitch for now.

“We have a game to play. We’re giving our all to make them the best training sessions we can and then deliver our best performance in our final game" added Howe.

Newcastle United can finish the season in the top ten of the Premier League while Burnley need to better or match Leeds United's result to stay in the top flight on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe has cited concerns for his team's safety at Turf Moor with a possible pitch invasion taking place should the Clarets secure safety this weekend.
